A Spanking New Version

Dry Day and the Fascinating Facelift
In Which the Site Finally Attempts Growing Up

After a dozen or so years of running this site, it was time to actually get down to moving away from WordPress.

Jerry and George agreeing with Kramer's statement: Not that there's anything wrong with that

It was just admin overkill for a very simple purpose. The hassle of updates and security and custom plugins and all that. And the bots. The constant attacks by bots!

Dry Day now runs on Zola. It’s a static site generator that’s still in early stages, but is fairly easy to work with. Once the hurdle of figuring out how things work in the background was cleared, it was pretty smooth sailing. Will things break? Possibly, yes. We’ll just have to deal with it when that happens.

So, what does this version have for you? Not much, for the moment. The most helpful feature is the upcoming dry days part: you get to see a calendar for the month ahead.

Plus, it now loads faster. Which isn’t really a big deal, but it feels nice to say it. And there’s this blog, which may or may not be updated regularly.

Most importantly, new-ish logo! This time, it won’t read as Dry Dry or Day Day. Hopefully.

And that’s it, for now.
